About Wes

I'm Wes Warren. Thanks for stopping by.

So a little about me. My wife, Amber, and I have been married 19 years and have lived in Highland for 14 years. We have three boys (Holden is 17, Fitz is 14, and our baby, Calvin, is 10), and our days are spent at swim meets, in front of camp fires, geeking out at comic cons, ruining our hearing at live concerts, saving for and then taking big vacations, and hibernating during the winters. We love being parents to three boys who couldn’t be more different from each other, but we do look forward to daughters-in-law some day.

For 17 years my wife and I have owned and operated an advertising and marketing agency. Working everyday with my best friend is a dream. I primarily handle videography, video editing, graphic design, and art direction.

In my spare time, I enjoy not having grown up since high school. I collect comic books, action figures, and original art work; I’m a big Jazz fan; I love going to live concerts; and I enjoy reading during the quiet parts of the night when everyone is sleeping. I graduated from the U of U with a degree in English and had hoped to become an English teacher. I still plan to, some day. Until then I try to teach my kids everything I know. But despite my best efforts they’re all very much not like me.  Phew!

“What we need is not more federal government, but better local government.”

-Calvin Coolidge

Highland is at a pivotal point. As we grow, we need steady, thoughtful leadership—people who know the issues, understand what matters to residents, and have already been doing the work. I’ve spent the last decade working to strengthen Highland. I serve on the Planning Commission, co-chair the Parks, Trails & Open Space Committee, and sit on the Library Board. I’ve also been a regular at City Council meetings for years, helping shape conversations around growth, land use, and public services. Now, I’m running for City Council to take that commitment further.

My goal is to make sure our growth reflects the values that define Highland: family, faith, and community—and to create more ways to live, gather, and enjoy life at home. That means keeping density low, protecting open space, and preserving the larger-lot, small-town character that makes Highland feel like Highland.

This isn’t just where I live—it’s where my wife and I are raising our family, and where I run a small business. It’s the community we’ve chosen to invest in fully, and I want to help keep it strong for the long run.

If you have questions or concerns, I’d love to hear them. I’m always happy to listen. My email address is weswarren4highland@gmail.com
