I Know This City
Before I ever decided to run for City Council, I spent 10 years showing up, speaking up, and working behind the scenes to make Highland better.
This campaign didn’t start with a strategy—it started with a commitment to serve. And that commitment hasn’t wavered.
I’ve Been Doing the Work
-
Planning Commission – I currently serve on the Planning Commission, helping review and guide proposals that directly shape the future of our city—land use, zoning, development standards, and more.
-
Library Board (Two-Term Member) – I’ve worked closely with our Library Director and staff to advocate for expanded programs and help navigate one of Highland’s most critical but underfunded services.
-
Parks, Trails & Open Space Committee (Co-Chair) – This issue is what originally brought me into city involvement. From day one, I’ve fought to preserve and improve Highland’s green spaces and public trail system—including the Highland Family Park and trail connectivity projects.
I’ve also been involved in the Highland Arts Council and the Highland Historical Society, I’ve volunteered at the Highland Fling and the city’s Spring Clean Up events, and I’ve supported our Lone Peak Safety departments and helped Highland City Staff with their efforts.
I’ve Shown Up—for a Decade
I’ve attended nearly every City Council meeting for almost 10 years—not because I had to, but because I wanted to understand how this city works and where it can do better.
That long-term involvement has given me a working knowledge of our city code, budget priorities, planning process, and the relationships that make local government function.
I Know the People and the Process
I’ve worked closely with city staff, current and former council members, and both past and current mayors. I know who’s doing the work, how to collaborate with them, and how to hit the ground running on day one without a learning curve.
Highland doesn’t need someone to play catch-up. It needs someone ready to lead—who already understands how decisions get made and how to make them better.
And I Know Why It Matters
I’m raising my family here. I run a small business here. I’ve invested more than a decade into helping Highland grow thoughtfully and preserve what makes it special.
If you want a representative who understands Highland inside and out—not just the policies, but the people—then I hope to earn your vote.
